Description: Blue, black and white layered chert, basalt, carbonate rocks; minor felsic volcaniclastic rocks; also hydrothermal barite, evaporites and stromatolites.
Comments: North Shaw region. Preliminary data suggested a 3525 Ma age, in Coonterunah Subgroup (per M. Van Kranendonk, Mar.06). Subsequent work indicates a maximum depositional age of 3481 Ma and correlation with McPhee Formation, so now part of Talga Talga Subgroup, Warrawoona Group (Pilbara Supergroup). (Hickman 2011 GSWA Annual Review 2009-10). Type area is in east Strelley greenstone belt.
